February 10: Weekly Round-Up

Another week, another round-up.

This week’s tracks a bit pop-heavy, but they are all songs that I’ve had on repeat and felt the need to include. Happy listening!

Crash My Car | COIN

Genre: Pop
Release Date: June 13, 2019

“Crash My Car” by COIN is an indie-pop, drum heavy hit with synth beats and a lot of energy. It’s a fun song with bright vocals and a much needed summery vibe in the midst of winter .

In anticipation of their upcoming album’s release on February 21, 2020 for Dreamland, “Crash My Car” is one of six pre-album singles by COIN.

GUM| Jule Vera

Genre: Alt-Pop
Release Date: March 15, 2019

Self-described as the “female led alt-pop band from Alabama,” the four friends that make up Jule Vera have produced a number of catchy beats.

“GUM,” released just in 2019, is a high-energy pop song with bright vocals. It has super catchy chorus that I’ve managed to chant under my breath multiple times throughout my day – “Chew you up and spit you out. Bitter taste, get out my mouth.” “

Alone with You | Gregory Dillon

Genre: Synth-Pop
Release Date:
June 1, 2018

Gregory Dillon is a massively underrated artist on Spotify given his repertoire of music. Each of his synth-driven singles are certified beats on this blog.

“Alone with You” has hints of the 80’s with a catchy pop beat. Dillon manages to produce light, yet full sounding vocals that melt into the instrumentals like butter.

Static | Cami Petyn

Genre: Pop
Release Date:
January 24, 2020

“Static” by Cami Petyn is a pop-alternative ode to overcoming anxiety. With experimental beats and raw, edgy vocals, the 2020 single sets the scene for the debut artist’s (likely) soon-to-be successful career.

Cami Petyn is a pink-haired self-proclaimed “plant eating dimension hopping singing emotional gorl🌈”.

Funeral For A Lover | JJ Wilde

Genre: Rock
Release Date:
January 17, 2020

“Funeral For A Lover” by JJ Wilde is a hauntingly sad song paired with emotional vocals and the earnestness of a piano. Despite the raw lyrics conveying the realities of loving someone who is depressed, JJ Wilde manages to create such a beautiful and honest song.

This is the latest release from the rising artist, with an EP dropping on June 21, 2020.
